Armenia is not Russia’s little brother, but a partner, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan said in an interview with RTV1 television channel, APA reports.
“We want our Russian partners to respect the independent decisions of the Armenian authorities. Armenia is economically dependent on Russia, but we believe that Russia is also economically dependent on Armenia,” he said.
In the context of relations with the European Union, Khachaturyan stated that the Armenian authorities should independently determine with whom and how to engage in trade and cooperation and establish diplomatic relations.
At the same time, he expressed confidence that, as a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, Armenia is not violating any rules and is operating within the framework set by the organization. According to the politician, no problems have arisen in this regard so far.
