Full-scale preparations for the Budapest summit have not yet begun, there is no teamwork yet, said the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, while talking about the preparations for the Putin-Trump meeting, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

According to him, there are no details yet regarding the summit to be held in Budapest.

The Kremlin spokesman announced that Russia hopes to achieve a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and discuss bilateral relations with the United States at the Budapest summit.

"Moscow will continue to engage with Washington on the settlement of Ukraine. Serious work is being done. The positions of Russia and Putin on a peaceful settlement are consistent and this is known to everyone. Moscow sees Kyiv's contradictory statements as complicating the process rather than contributing to a peaceful settlement," Peskov noted.

Peskov noted that Putin and Trump's good relations with Orban contributed to the choice of Budapest as the summit venue.
