“There are no supporters of a confrontation with NATO in Russia," said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov while commenting on German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius’s statement that a war between NATO and Russia could begin in 2028, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, such militaristic and pro-war rhetoric is increasingly being heard from European capitals.
“There are no supporters of a confrontation with NATO in Russia. However, we are forced and must take measures to ensure our legitimate interests. This is related to disagreements in the militaristic rhetoric of NATO countries. Such statements reflect the situation in the best possible way,” the Kremlin spokesperson emphasized.
Note that German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has stated that a war between NATO and Russia could begin by 2029. According to him, initially, the armed conflict was expected to start in 2029, but now some military experts believe that it could happen in 2028.
