The Armenian opposition has announced an indefinite protest in the center of Yerevan, said opposition leader Artur Vanetsyan at a rally in Freedom Square in the center of Yerevan, APA reports citing Armenian Media.

In the evening, police prevented protesters from setting up tents and detained several people.

After that, Vanetsyan said he would not leave the square, regardless of whether the government allowed the construction of tents.

Vanetsyan chanted slogans such as "I'm not going anywhere," "We are starting indefinite protests."

The Armenian opposition has said it wants to remove Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from power.

The leader of the "I have the honor" faction and former director of the National Security Council of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan said that a "roadmap" will be drawn up for this.

He added that the main task is the resignation of Pashinyan.
