Baku-APA. Ukrainian top court on Wednesday annulled the parliamentary mandate of Sergei Vlasenko, who is lawyer of jailed former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The court decided to put down Vlasenko's lawmaker title, citing his failure to give up his lawyer's license as deputies are supposed to do.

In response to the top court's ruling, Ukrainian opposition leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced plans to lodge a complaint against the court to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in Strasbourg.

Vlasenko, 46, a long-term ally of Tymoshenko, was a member of Ukrainian opposition "Fatherland" Party, which is the second biggest political party in the country.

Tymoshenko, who was the prime minister of Ukraine from Jan. 24 to Sept. 8, 2005 and again from Dec. 18 to March 4, 2010, was convicted and sentenced to seven years in jail in October 2011 over abusing her power in a gas supply deal with Russia in 2009.

Tymoshenko, 52, has dismissed all charges against her, saying they are politically motivated
