He called on those present to hold up the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and to repeat with him.
The oath said, in part, "I am the citizen of the Republic of Armenia and today I liquidate my relationships with the current illegal government. I declare that I do not recognize fake leaders, I will not obey false laws, I am protected by the Constitution and I am not afraid, I am not sold, I do not give up.
We, the citizens of the 4-th republic, swear with our forefathers' dreams ,with the future of our children, with the state constitution that we will fight with love and we will not lose that fight, we will not be disappointed, we will give to each other and we will win.”
Raffi Hovannisian invited Serzh Sargsyan and Catholicos Karekin II to Liberty Square at 6 p.m. and urged them to apologize to the people: “I am following what is going on. If Sargsyan swears falsely and Catholicos blesses him, I will recognize neither Serzh Sargsyan nor Catholicos, only the Armenian people. Sargsyan is no more a president. Either resign or arrest me just here. Final choice rests with Sargsyan – to com to Liberty Square or to toast with some ambassadors. However, it will be his last toast.”
Following this, protestors started to march on the streets of Yerevan. Some of them offered to go to the presidential residence and declared that they are ready to do everything to reach their goal. Hovannisian rejected the offer, reminding the upcoming rally at 6 p.m.
“Armenia Today” has already reported that busses full of soldiers had been deployed outside American University of Armenia.
