Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov described his country's military intervention in Ukraine as a way to liberate the world from the West's neo-colonial oppression, "heavily implicated in racism and an exclusiveness complex," APA reports citing Xinhua.
Lavrov asserted the military operation is going as planned. He stressed Russia is doing anything in its power to avoid human casualties and to keep humanitarian corridors open while accusing Kyiv of not releasing civilians. Lavrov also expressed his certainty Russia will be able to withstand the pressure of the sanctions the Western countries imposed on it due to its intervention in Ukraine.
In the same interview, Lavrov accused the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) of trying to prevent Russia and Ukraine from achieving a political agreement on the situation in the latter country.
