Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia and China are ready to provide mutual support in defending their fundamental interests and coordinating efforts on the global stage, APA reports citing TASS.
Lavrov emphasized that cooperation between the two countries is crucial in creating a more balanced world order based on international law, also pointing to the recent state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Russia as an important milestone in their bilateral relations.
"The visit of the PRC (People's Republic of China) leader had a wide international resonance, literally dominated the global information agenda. This confirms that the Russian-Chinese strategic partnership has long gone beyond the exclusively bilateral context," said Lavrov.
