Russia has permanent channels of communication with Washington, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov while commenting on American media reports on Russian-US talks in Abu Dhabi, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, Moscow prefers to engage in diplomacy rather than engage in empty talk aimed at undermining peace initiatives.
Lavrov stressed that Russia is not rushing the US in the negotiations on Ukraine: "We hope that when the US completes its consultations with Ukraine and Europe, they will inform Moscow."
Note that the US media reported that the US Secretary of the Army will present an abbreviated plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine to Russian officials at a meeting to be held in Abu Dhabi today.
