The Novocherkassk oil refinery, operating in the Rostov region and considered the main supplier of oil products in Southern Russia, has been burning for the 5th day, APA reports, citing Russian Telegram channels.
The plant, which was subjected to a drone attack by Ukraine, has been on fire since August 21.
Despite the efforts of firefighters from local and neighboring regions – Krasnodar Krai, Kalmykia, Volgograd region, and Moscow – it has not been possible to extinguish the fire at the plant for five days.
According to CNN, since the beginning of August, at least 10 major energy facilities in Russia, including oil refineries, have been targeted by drone attacks. At least 4 refineries have halted production.
