Today, Nurlanbek Shakiev, Speaker of the Kyrgyzstan Parliament, met with his Armenian counterpart, Alen Simonyan, in Bishkek, APA reports citing the Kyrgyz parliament’s press service.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed strengthening political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties between the countries, and emphasized the importance of developing inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Shakiev also noted that Kyrgyzstan supports the agreements signed in Washington on August 8 between Azerbaijan and Armenia this year.
“I believe this historic event will not only strengthen friendship between the countries but also contribute to stability and development in the South Caucasus and the region as a whole,” he said.
