"The Russian Federation is taking steps following the orders of President Vladimir Putin regarding those who are under siege of Azovstal," said Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov commenting on the statements of Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshuk on Kyiv's intention to sign a document on the evacuation from the plant, APA reports.
"We rely on the words of our President that all civilians can leave the plant in any direction, which has been done. "As for the military, they can leave without weapons, they will be treated appropriately, and all the wounded will be provided with the necessary medical care," Peskov said.
He added that these are the words of the President, the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
