Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu, said Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, APA reports citing TASS.
The purpose of the meeting between Putin and Shangfu was not immediately released, but it marks Shanfu's first foreign trip since his appointment, where he will hold talks with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu about bilateral cooperation in the defense sphere, as well as topical issues of global and regional security, according to the announcement.
The meeting occurred just a month after the Russian leader held talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping during his visit to Moscow.
