Krasnodar flight took off from Sheremetyevo Airport for the first time after a three-year break, said Izvestia correspondent Alexandra Mostovaya on Wednesday, September 17, APA reports, citing Izvestiya.
"It's about a four-hour flight, so we're certainly looking forward to it," she commented.
Passengers were looking forward to the resumption of flights — the travel time from Moscow to Krasnodar has now been significantly reduced. Passenger Larisa Karpova shared that she was very pleased with the opening of the airport.
"It's great that you can get there in 3.5 hours. We go on a retreat with like—minded people, but since Krasnodar was closed, we had to postpone it," she said.
Pavel Zakharov, the commander of the Aeroflot aircraft, noted that it was a great honor for him to make the first flight on this route.
From Krasnodar, it will be possible to fly to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, as well as to Istanbul and Dubai.
Earlier, on September 11, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation announced that Krasnodar airport would be open for flight services from 9:00 a.m. Moscow time. The agency recalled that it had not operated flights since the end of February 2022 for security reasons. Later, Aeroflot launched ticket sales for flights to Krasnodar from Moscow and other regions of Russia.
