The Investigative Committee of Armenia has launched a criminal investigation based on an audio recording in which a former priest accuses Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II of forcing him to participate in an opposition rally, APA reports.
"A criminal case has been opened based on the elements stipulated in Part 3 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code ('Obstruction or coercion to hold or participate in a meeting using authority or official powers, as well as material incentives for participation in a meeting or refusal to participate in it')," the Investigative Committee's press service noted.
