Fuel prices in Russia have risen due to shortages, APA reports, citing Kommersant magazine.
Maintenance work at several major oil refineries has reduced the amount of gasoline offered to the market, leading to shortages and, in turn, higher wholesale fuel prices on the exchange.
To stabilize the situation, the government has banned gasoline exports and is planning measures to ease tensions in the fuel market. However, experts note that without increasing production volumes, the problem will not be resolved, especially at a time when demand for fuel in agriculture is rising due to harvesting and sowing.
