Former adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and former head of the Central Communications Service under the President, Yerzhan Babakumarov, has been killed in Astana, APA reports, citing kaztag.kz.
According to some reports, suspects related to the incident have been detained.
Yerzhan Babakumarov held senior positions at various times in the Ministry of Information, the Almaty City Administration (Akimat), the Office of the Prime Minister, and the Presidential Administration.
He was also an academician of the Academy of Public and Political Sciences and a member of the Kazakhstan Political Science Association.
