After the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the US President’s Special Representative Steve Witkoff, Russia and the US reaffirmed their commitment to the results of the Alaska summit, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, during Putin’s meeting with Witkoff, misunderstandings between Russia and the US were resolved.
Lavrov emphasized that during their recent meetings, Putin and Witkoff resolved all misunderstandings between Russia and the US caused by the gap after the Alaska summit.
"Russia and the US have agreed in Alaska that Ukraine will return to a neutral, non-nuclear status. Russia has presented the US with additional proposals for collective security guarantees that are not limited to Ukraine alone," emphasized the Russian Foreign Minister.
In response to claims that, according to Ukraine’s constitution, it cannot refuse to join NATO, Lavrov said: "We have recognized a different Ukraine."
