Explosion at missile base in Russia

An explosion occurred at a missile base in the Orenburg region, after which a cloud of purple smoke appeared in the sky, APA reports, citing ArbatMedia.

According to the report, residents of the city of Yasny reported that a loud explosion was heard before the smoke appeared. Residents said that this was caused by the explosion of a launched missile in the air.

The Unified Duty Dispatch Service announced that there was no need to evacuate the population. The agency stated that there was no threat to people's lives and recommended contacting the Ministry of Defense for additional information.

Official statements from federal agencies have not yet been published.
