"Kremlin condemns sanctions against journalists and media chiefs, it is unacceptable," said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, APA's correspondent in Moscow reports.

"We have said many times, especially as you know, that these are not our first media executives who are sanctioned, your colleagues have been under sanctions for some time. Therefore, we consider the sanctions unacceptable and illegal. We consider it illegal to impose any restrictions on journalists, media representatives, and leaders, and we strongly condemn it," a Kremlin spokesman said.

Note that the European Union has expanded the list of sanctions against individuals from the Russian Federation. The new sanctions list includes Alexei Pimanov, president of "Krasnaya Zvezda" media holding, a member of the Public Council under the Russian Defense Ministry, editor-in-chief of "Natsionalnaya Oborona" magazine, well-known military expert Igor Korotchenko, director-general of "Komsomolskaya Pravda" Vladimir Sungorkin, and General Director of "Moskovsky Komsomolets" newspaper Pavel Gusev, General Director of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Oleg Dobrodeyev and other journalists.
