On the night of October 6, more than 10 explosions occurred in the city of Dzerzhinsk in the Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as in the city of Nizhny Novgorod itself, APA reports, citing Russia’s “SHOT” Telegram channel.
According to the report, two drone strikes hit the Sverdlov plant in the city of Dzerzhinsk. The plant is said to be an important part of Russia’s military-industrial complex.
According to the Astra publication, the plant is one of the major explosive manufacturing facilities in Russia, supplying explosives to the mining, oil and gas extraction industries, as well as for seismic and geophysical operations.
The Sverdlov plant has been included in Ukraine’s sanctions list for supporting actions that violate or threaten Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence.
The plant has repeatedly come under drone attacks in the past.
One such attack occurred in July of this year.
Another drone strike targeted the plant on October 20 last year.
