Moscow understands that adjustments need to be made in Syria-Russia relations, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.
According to him, among the issues raised between the two countries are the Russian bases in Khmeimim and Tartus that the Syrian side wants to maintain: "The Syrian side is interested in keeping the Russian military bases in the country. As our President has repeatedly stated, we rely on the interests of the Syrian Arab Republic. It is clear that under the new conditions, these bases may no longer serve solely as military outposts but may play a different role.”
Lavrov noted that under the new conditions, these bases could serve as centers for delivering humanitarian aid.
