The commander of the “Sisakan” gang, Ashot Minasyan (“Ashot Yerkat”), was sentenced to 2 years in prison for possession of weapons, APA reports, citing Armenian media.
The Court of Appeal has overturned the decision of the first instance court on a suspended sentence.
Note that Ashot Minasyan was arrested in December 2021 on charges of preparing the assassination of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The investigation later announced that a large number of weapons and ammunition were found on him. Later, he was released on bail due to lack of evidence. In December 2024, the Syunik court sentenced him to 1 year and 10 months in prison on probation.
