The trial in the criminal case of the deputy head of the Rostov-on-Don Garrison Military Court, General Mirza Mirzayev of Azerbaijani origin, has concluded, APA's Russian bureau reports, citing the General Military Prosecutor's Office.
Mirzayev, accused of receiving a large bribe, has been sentenced to 9 years in a high-security prison.
It is noted that the 53-year-old general was arrested in November 2024. According to the charges, he demanded 140 million rubles from a supplier of modular buildings and threatened to cancel a contract worth 480 million rubles if the money was not paid. The company transferred the funds to Mirzayev, after which he was detained.
