One of the well-known representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the Russian city of Kuban, the owner of the cargo terminal in Tuapse and the "Old Baku" restaurant in Krasnodar, Shahlar Novruzov, has been arrested, APA's Russian bureau reports.
Novruzov is charged in a criminal case related to the attempted theft of real estate worth 919 million rubles.
The investigation believes that in order to commit the crime, the perpetrators, including Shahlar Novruzov, presented a marriage certificate allegedly concluded in Azerbaijan to the Prikubansky District Court.
According to law enforcement agencies, the document presented to the court by the perpetrators in order to embezzle wealth was forged.
