A criminal case was initiated against 12 military servicemen who joined the residents protesting the agreement on border delimitation with Azerbaijan in Kirants village of Armenia's Tavush province, according to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, APA reports citing Armenpress.

It was noted that as the investigation is confidential, the military personnel, whose names have not been disclosed to the public, were ordered to go to the area where the protests took place. After reaching the area, the military personnel laid down the weapons assigned to them and joined the protesters.

"Necessary operational-investigative measures are carried out for a thorough investigation of the obtained facts," the Committee noted.
