The reduction in defense spending in 2026 is balanced by their sharp increase in 2025, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in parliament, APA reports.
According to him, there was a sharp increase in defense spending in 2025 compared to 2024: "In 2025, there was a sharp and disproportionate increase in defense spending compared to 2024. We made significant defense expenditures, some of which were directed to the payment of future debts and obligations, including obligations in the defense sector."
The Prime Minister noted that according to the medium-term spending program, defense spending for 2026 demonstrates a natural increase compared to 2024.
