Armenian opposition to start mass protests on April 25-UPDATED

"On April 25, there will be a march from all over Armenia to the capital Yerevan," said a member of the Dashnaktsutun opposition party, Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Ishkhan Sagatelyan, APA reports.

He said that large-scale street demonstrations and traditional torch processions will be held from that date.

"Now is the time for real action. We start fighting with our resources and thousands of supporters. The main goal is to overthrow the traitors in power. Mass protests will begin on April 25. On that day, marches will be organized in four directions to the capital Yerevan.

“Armenian opposition will start protests against the government on April 25,” said the head of “ I have honor” fraction Artur Vanetsyan, APA reports citing news.am.

Vanetesyan noted that representatives of the bloc of “Armenia” will also join protests.

According to him, the main demands will be the resignation of the government, restoration and strengthening of statehood, solving security problems, and improving the welfare of the population.

“I would not imagine that our protest would impact so seriously to the minds of people. Nikol and his team acted contradictory to interests of Armenia. The people say that any concessions to Azerbaijan are out of the question. It is not a political protest, it is a civil fight,” he noted.
