“We have a very good dialogue with Türkiye at multiple levels — between leaders, foreign ministers, special representatives, and technical groups,” said Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in an interview with DW, APA reports.
“This dialogue has taken place from the very beginning without any preconditions and continues to this day. Personally, I see no problem in opening the Armenia–Türkiye border, nor do I see any obstacle to establishing diplomatic relations between Armenia and Türkiye.”
Mirzoyan noted that the Turkish side is ready for the opening of borders, the restoration of railway connections, and the resumption of direct bilateral trade, and even “practically demonstrates readiness for this, even without the establishment of diplomatic relations.”
“Therefore, I believe that in the coming weeks and months, we will achieve quite tangible progress in this direction. In my opinion, this issue could be resolved within a maximum of a few months. This is my subjective assessment. Let’s see how events unfold,” the Armenian foreign minister said.
