The court has decided to keep Archbishop Mikael Adjapakhyan, head of the Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Church, in custody, APA reports, citing Armenian media.
The court rejected a petition from Adjapakhyan's lawyer seeking to change his detention conditions. As a result, the pre-trial detention order remains in effect.
Further hearings are scheduled for September 29.
Adjapakhyan faces charges of making public calls to seize power.
