The Armenian government is conducting intensive negotiations with Russia regarding the extension of the stay period for Armenian truck drivers in that country from 90 days to 180 days, APA reports, citing Armenian Telegram channels.
Official Yerevan states that the current restrictions contradict the principles of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and that complying with these rules is practically impossible. As a result, the deportation of drivers is on the agenda, which goes against the concept of equal cooperation within the organization.
Armenian officials note that this is not only a problem for Armenia, but for all EAEU member states, and the issue should be resolved within the framework of the union. Otherwise, membership in the EAEU loses its meaning for Armenia.
