Annual inflation in Russia accelerated from 7.59% a week earlier to 7.6% from March 5 to 11, the Ministry of Economic Development said in its price review, APA reports citing TASS.
"Prices did not change in the consumer market over the week from March 5 to 11, 2024; the price growth rate year on year totaled 7.6%," the ministry said.
In the food segment, the rise in prices slowed down to 0.07% with the accelerated price drop for fruits and vegetables. Inflation stayed almost at the prior week level for other foods. Nonfoods prices lost 0.08% amid the significant price drop for domestic cars and the expedited fall in prices for electric and domestic appliances.
In the services sector, prices lost 0.06% amid accelerated domestic airfare price decline, the ministry noted.
