Ambassador: EU will continue monitoring mission in Armenia

"The European Union (EU) will continue its monitoring mission in Armenia in line with its mandate, and there is currently no need for any changes," EU Ambassador to Armenia Vassilis Maragos said in response to a question on whether the issue of the withdrawal of third forces from the border had been raised following the initialing of the peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku, APA reports, citing Armenian media.

“As far as I know, the people and the government of Armenia welcome the EU mission in Armenia. The mission continues its activities. If the need for any changes arises, we will discuss this with our member states and, of course, with the Armenian authorities. But at this stage, I want to reassure the Armenian public that the EU mission will continue its activities in accordance with its mandate,” the EU ambassador stated.
