An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 has been recorded near Kamchatka, APA reports, citing the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The earthquake occurred at 7:45 a.m. Moscow time, 158 km away from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The epicenter was located at a depth of 38.2 km. According to preliminary data, the strength of the earthquake in the regional capital was estimated at 4 magnitude points.
It should be noted that a few hours earlier, another earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 had occurred. No tsunami threat has been reported.
