Baku. Laura Jabrailli -APA. “People’s Republic of Azerbaijan. British archive documents”, a book prepared by the Institute of History of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) was presented by ANAS on Wednesday, APA reports. The book contains the pages of the history of the People’s Republic of Azerbaijan never fixed before and Azerbaijan-British relations. 251 documents mostly taken from the lists of Foreign Office were published in the digest-book. Some secret materials were taken from the files of British Military Department, Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Finance. The documents were introduced in the chronological sequence beginning from 1917. The documents show that a group of Armenians asked British ambassador in Tehran Charles Merling in 1917 to give financial support to Andranik, who committed genocide against Muslim Turks. It was also shown in the document that the British government sent one million rubles to Armenians through the Russians for the first time and two millions rubles for the next time. Armenian barbarism was also confirmed by the British High Commissioner in the Caucasus Vordrop in his report to London on October 2, 1919 and in the address of Iranian foreign ministry to the British diplomatic mission on October 21, 1919.
