Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, who is on an official visit to Israel, met with Rantik Agarunov, the brother of Azerbaijan’s National Hero Albert Agarunov, the Defense Ministry told APA on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they paid tribute to the heroic sons of the Motherland, who sacrificed their lives for the defense of Azerbaijan, recalling Agarunov's life and his participation in battles.
It was stressed that like representatives of other peoples living in Azerbaijan, this hero, who was of Jewish origin, always considered Azerbaijan his homeland, fought for his native land and gave his life for its independence and sovereignty.
Rantik Agarunov, on behalf of his family, expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani state for the care and high attention paid to his brother.
