Baku – APA. Under the mandate of the personal representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, the monitoring of the Line of Contact near Gazakh’s Mazam village came to an end on January 29.
The Armenian side has made another provocative attempt during the monitoring, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.
“The Armenians failed to lead the field assistants of the personal representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office who were monitoring the opposite side of the Line of Contact to the right coordinates determined based on an agreement before the monitoring. As a result, the monitoring was delayed.
Monitoring was conducted after the solution of certain procedures.
The Armenian Armed Forces violated ceasefire shortly before the end of the monitoring and opened fire at the positions of the Azerbaijani Army located at some distance from OSCE representatives.
The Defense Ministry reiterates that such provocative actions of the Armenian side, in contravention of the norms and principles of international law, have become systematic.
The Armenian side, escalating the situation on the contact line every time, undermines conditions for the normal activities of international organizations and deliberately impedes the execution of their prescribed duties,” says the statement of the Defense Ministry.
