Police say two people have died in a plane crash north-west of Grafton in northern New South Wales, APA reports citing ABC News.
Emergency services were called to a property at Lilydale about 9am today after reports a light plane had crashed into powerlines.
Personnel from NSW Police, Fire and Rescue, NSW Ambulance and NSW SES are at the scene.
Officers with the Coffs-Clarence Police are working to identify those onboard the aircraft and an investigation has been opened.
Inspector Richard Garrels said the investigation was in its early stages, but it was believed the plane flew into powerlines, causing it to crash onto the riverbank of the Clarence River.
