"As you know we were very disappointed by the action committed against the Azerbaijani flag in the European Championship. Our sorrow is enough for us anyway. As you know we have recently faced a quake disaster, we lost our numerous citizens. However, Turkiye, which is a strong state, started to heal its wounds deliberately and did not leave behind any activities and sent us to the European Championship in Armenia. After the unpleasant situation there, that night while seeing off our Azerbaijani brothers, we experienced a deep sorrow. However, our athletes said that if they are not here, we are here, and we will do our best. "It is a very valuable step for our daughter Cansu to present it to our Azerbaijani brothers when she participated in the competitions and received a gold medal with the belief of 'two states, one nation,'" Talat Unlu said.
