Three injured in earthquakes near Iran’s Kuzaran: State media - UPDATED

As we reported earlier, a magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck near Kuzaran in the western Kermanshah province.

A spokesperson for the country’s disaster management authority told the Mehr news agency that two earthquakes occurred five minutes apart in the region.

The official confirmed that the first occurred at 7:13 am local time (03:43 GMT) at a depth of 8km, followed by a magnitude 5.7 earthquake at a depth of 13km.

Three people were wounded in the earthquakes, Mehr said.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 jolted Western Iran at 0343 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said, Xinxua reports.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 34.50 degrees north latitude and 46.33 degrees east longitude.

The magnitude of the earthquake was revised from earlier reports of 5.0 to 4.5.
