Omer Celik, spokesperson for Türkiye’s Justice and Development Party (AKP), has commented on the election of a new Supreme Leader in Iran, APA reports citing NTV.
While responding to questions from NTV, Celik said they respect the will of the Iranian state.
He noted that no radical changes are expected in Iran’s policy with Mojtaba Khamenei coming to power: “It is also important to understand Iran’s system. Claiming that radical policy changes will occur in line with the wishes of the religious leader may indicate a lack of sufficient understanding of Iran.”
It should be noted that yesterday Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, was elected as the new Supreme Leader of Iran.
It should be recalled that Seyyed Ali Khamenei was killed on February 28 as a result of airstrikes carried out by Israel and the United States. He served as Iran’s second Supreme Leader from 1989 to 2026.
