“The launch of a missile from Iran toward Türkiye is a serious incident,” said Mark Rutte, Secretary General of NATO, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
The Secretary General noted, however, that this situation does not create grounds for invoking Article 5 of NATO.
According to him, the military operations against Iran are still at an early stage.
Rutte stated that Iran should refrain from threatening rhetoric against the Middle East, its neighbors, Israel, and Europe, and avoid steps that could escalate tensions.
He added that shared responsibility is essential for maintaining regional and global security.
