It should be noted that yesterday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia and the United States will hold a meeting in Istanbul on February 27 to discuss the operation of their embassies. According to him, the talks will focus on issues related to the functioning of the diplomatic missions of both countries. Lavrov added that the outcome of the Istanbul discussions will determine how quickly and effectively progress can be made in this direction.
The purpose of the talks is to restore trust between the two countries and discuss issues related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. These talks are the first high-level meetings between Russia and the USA in a long time.
Russian President's spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the agreements reached in Riyadh are being implemented gradually.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the Russia-USA talks were a surprise, and they learned about them from the media.
