Iran and the United States are exchanging messages.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei made the statement, according to the Fars News Agency.
“The Americans are exchanging messages, but our priority is to safeguard our sovereignty and territorial integrity and protect our people from war crimes,” he said.
According to Baghaei, diplomacy has been betrayed for the third time:
“Do not forget that this is already the third such incident over the past year. On two previous occasions, we were attacked by the United States and Israel while negotiations were underway.”
The spokesperson stressed that the US attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
