Iran loses 4,200 MW of electricity generation capacity due to war

As a result of the war, Iran’s power plants have lost 4,200 megawatts of generation capacity, Iranian Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi told journalists, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.

Aliabadi said that during the recent war, a total of 4,200 megawatts of electricity generation capacity was lost across the country, and work is underway to restore and compensate for this capacity.

He noted that both state-owned and private power plants were damaged during the war.

According to the minister, state-owned power plants have been repaired and reconnected to the electricity grid, while repair work at private power plants is ongoing.

Aliabadi also said that all damaged power plants are planned to be reconnected to the grid by next summer.
