Senior officials from Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan will meet in Istanbul on Monday for the first meeting of the Strategic Political and Defense Committee established under their newly signed Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday, APA reports.
"Pakistan will be represented at the meeting by Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and the Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir," the ministry added.
According to sources, the talks are expected to focus on strengthening defense capabilities, improving military interoperability, and coordinating on regional and international security issues. The three countries will also discuss expanding cooperation in the defense industry, including joint production and research and development.
