The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) should become one of the main driving forces of common prosperity and economic development across Eurasia, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during his speech at the SCO Plus meeting, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Bishkek reports.
Xi Jinping said that over the past 25 years, the SCO has become an example in terms of building relations between major powers, developing good-neighborly relations, as well as promoting cooperation between large and small countries.
According to him, the vast area covered by the SCO accounts for approximately half of the world’s population and a quarter of the global economy.
Xi Jinping noted that the organization has become one of Eurasia’s main platforms for cooperation in energy, security, economy, trade, and humanitarian areas.
The Chinese leader called for expanding high-quality cooperation within the SCO, making more efficient use of existing potential, and forming new centers of economic growth in Eurasia.
