Baku-APA. The U.S. non-farm payroll grew by 204,000 in October, and the unemployment rate edged up to 7.3 percent, the Labor Department said Friday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The unemployment rate was 0.1 percentage point higher than that of September, the department said in a report.
The number of long-term unemployed, who have been jobless for at least 27 weeks, stood at 4.1 million last month, according to the report.
The private sector added 212,000 jobs in October, and the payroll in governments of different levels decreased by 8,000, said the department.
