U.S. imposes sanctions against Russian highest-ranking officials and MPs

Baku – APA. The White House has imposed sanctions against Russian highest-rankingofficials and MPs, as well as former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. APA reports that Head of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin, Presidential Aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin Vladislav Surkov, Presidential Adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin Sergey Glazyev, State Duma deputies Leonid Slutsky, Yelena Mizulina, Member of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrei Klishas, as well as former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych were named as people facing sanctions.

These individuals’ personal assets will be targeted. They are accused of threatening peace, security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The EU has also imposed sanctions on 21 Russian and Ukrainian officials.
