Baku-APA. Turkish police detained a suspect after seizing 10 handguns in a minibus in the southern province of Hatay, local Today's Zaman reported Wednesday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
A mini-bus driver called the police after a man left a suspicious bag inside his vehicle, according to the report.
By searching the bag, the police found 10 unlicensed handguns and detained the suspected owner of the bag.
The incident is still under investigation.
Smuggling of weapons has been on the rise in Turkey's southern section in recent days as the Syrian unrest continues.
